Aluminum plate shape

The shape of the aluminum plate refers to the appearance of the aluminum plate.

Bad plate shape refers to the uneven plate surface. The direct cause of bad plate shape is the uneven extension of the width of the rolled piece.
The fundamental reason for bad plate shape is that during the rolling process, the rolls produce harmful deformation, resulting in an uneven roll gap shape, which leads to uneven extension of the width of the rolled piece, thus generating waves.

Therefore, the essence of plate shape control is to reduce and overcome
this harmful deformation. To reduce and overcome this harmful deformation, it is necessary to solve it from two aspects:
1. From the equipment configuration aspect, including plate shape control means and increasing the rigidity of the rolling mill;
2. From the process measures aspect.

Plate shape, intuitively speaking, refers to the warpage of aluminum sheet.
Its essence is the distribution of residual stress inside aluminum sheet and aluminum coil As long as there is residual stress in aluminum coil and aluminum sheet, it is called poor plate shape
. If this residual stress exists but is not enough to cause the plate and aluminum coil to warp, it is called potential poor plate shape.
If this stress is large enough to cause the aluminum sheet and aluminum coil to lose stability and warp, it is called manifested poor plate shape.
The quality of plate shape depends on whether the longitudinal extension of the width direction of the aluminum sheet and aluminum coil is equal during rolling.
The uniformity of the cross-sectional thickness of the billet before rolling, the roll shape, and the actual roll gap shape formed by the bending deformation of the roll during rolling.
Therefore, the plate shape and the transverse thickness accuracy are closely related.
