The most important method for producing aluminum sheets aluminum coils and aluminum foils is flat roll rolling. The rolling process refers to the plastic deformation process in which aluminum enters between the rotating rollers and is compressed under the action of the rollers. The metal obtains a certain size, shape and performance during rolling. The roll body used to produce aluminum plates, aluminum coils and aluminum foil is basically a uniform cylinder without grooves, so this kind of roll is called a flat roll, and rolling with a flat roll is called flat roll rolling.

1. The concept of hot rolling.
Hot rolling generally refers to the rolling of metal above the crystallization temperature.
During hot rolling, the deformed metal undergoes both hardening and softening processes. Due to the influence of the deformation speed, as long as the recovery and recrystallization processes do not have time to proceed, the metal will undergo certain work hardening as the degree of deformation increases.
However, within the hot rolling temperature range, the softening process plays a dominant role, so at the end of hot rolling, the recrystallization of the metal is usually incomplete. The hot-rolled aluminum alloy aluminum plate and aluminum coil present a organizational state in which recrystallization and deformation structures coexist. .

2. Hot rolling has some characteristics:

1 ) Significantly lower energy consumption and lower costs. During hot rolling, the metal has high plasticity and low deformation resistance, which greatly reduces the energy consumption of metal deformation.

2 ) Improve the processing performance of aluminum alloy. Hot rolling can break the coarse grains in the casting state, press microcracks together, reduce or eliminate casting defects, transform the as-cast structure into a deformed structure, and improve the processing performance of aluminum alloys.

3 ) Improve production efficiency. Hot rolling usually uses large ingots and large rolling reduction, which improves production efficiency and also increases the rolling speed. It creates conditions for the continuity and automation of the rolling process.

4 ) The required mechanical properties of the aluminum plate cannot be accurately controlled. The structure and performance of the aluminum plate are uneven. The strength index of the hot-rolled product is lower than that of the cold work-hardened product but higher than that of the incomplete annealed product. The plasticity index is higher than that of the cold-work hardened product. Lower than fully annealed products

5 ) cannot produce products with precise thickness dimensions and high surface quality requirements. Hot rolled products are generally used as blanks for cold rolling processing.
