According to the chemical composition and production process characteristics of aluminum alloys aluminum alloys can be divided into two categories: casting aluminum alloys and deformation aluminum alloys.

Cast aluminum alloys are used to cast various molded parts. Their main characteristics are that there are more eutectics in the chemical composition, which have good fluidity during casting and can fill the mold well to make the casting dense.
However, the tensile strength and plasticity of cast aluminum alloys are generally low, and they are not suitable for pressure processing.

The strength and plasticity of deformed aluminum alloys are generally high, and they can be made into various materials and semi-finished products through pressure processing and deformation.
Deformed aluminum alloys are mainly used to produce aluminum plates and aluminum coils.

According to the different chemical composition and heat treatment characteristics, deformed aluminum alloys are divided into heat treatment non-strengthening aluminum alloys and heat treatment strengthening aluminum alloys.

Aluminum alloys cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. This type of aluminum alloy is characterized by a solid solution structure. It has item 2 but not much. It cannot be strengthened by quenching and aging. A non-strengthenable aluminum alloy means that it contains a relatively large amount of alloy elements, and the strengthening effect of heat treatment is not good. Large, unused alloy, characterized by good plasticity and pressure processing properties, and corrosion resistance. For example, 5052, 5a05, 3003, etc.
This type of aluminum alloy mainly includes pure aluminum series 1, aluminum-manganese series 3, and aluminum-magnesium series 5.

Heat treatment can strengthen aluminum alloys. This kind of aluminum alloys can significantly improve the mechanical strength by heat treatment methods such as quenching and aging. They mainly include aluminum-copper series such as 2 series, and aluminum-silicon series 6 series 6061. The aluminum-zinc series is from the 7 series.
