Unstable welding arc

The reason for unstable welding arc may be poor circuit contact or dirt in the joint area. The oil, grease, lubricant, paint, etc. in the joint area should be removed.

If the arc is broken, the welding arc will be unstable, so do not weld under a strong electromagnetic field, and use a ground wire terminal to eliminate the interference of the magnetic field.

When welding aluminum alloy the weld is not fully penetrated. This may be because the welding current is too small. You need to increase the welding current.

The welding arc moves too fast. Reduce the speed.

The welding arc is too long. You need to increase the wire feeding speed to reduce the arc length.

If there is dirt on the surface of the welded aluminum alloy, you need to use chemical methods to remove the oil and grease on the surface, or use physical methods to brush off the surface debris.

Welding aluminum alloy or oxides on the electrode surface may also cause the aluminum alloy to not be welded through. At this time, a disc grinder should be used to remove the surface oxide film.
